A Day of Wildlife & Conservation at Ol Jogi

Morning:

• Your adventure begins with a pick-up from your Nairobi hotel at 7:00 AM. Travel in a comfortable vehicle for approximately 3-4 hours, enjoying scenic views as you journey towards the foothills of the Aberdare Mountains.
• Upon arrival at the Ol Jogi gate, complete any necessary formalities and enter the vast private conservancy. You’ll be warmly welcomed by the staff and enjoy a refreshing drink while they share a brief overview of the day’s activities and the conservancy’s conservation efforts.

Mid-Morning:

• Embark on a thrilling morning game drive in a customized open-sided vehicle. Explore the diverse landscapes of Ol Jogi, ranging from sprawling savannah plains teeming with wildlife to acacia woodlands and dramatic gorges. Keep your eyes peeled for a variety of animals, including elephants, zebras, giraffes, lions, leopards, cheetahs, and many more. Your experienced guide will share their knowledge about the conservancy’s unique ecosystem and the ongoing conservation initiatives.
• For a heartwarming experience (at an additional cost), choose to visit the Ol Jogi Wildlife Conservancy’s animal rescue center. Learn about orphaned or injured animals receiving care and rehabilitation, potentially encountering species like lions, cheetahs, and even the rare black rhinoceros.

Afternoon:

• Savor a delicious lunch prepared with fresh, local ingredients at a scenic location within the conservancy. Enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes as you relax and refuel for the afternoon activities. Choose one of the following exciting afternoon activities:
• Scenic Nature Walk: Embark on a guided nature walk through a scenic part of the conservancy, encountering diverse plant life and bird species. Learn about the delicate balance of the ecosystem and the conservancy’s efforts towards sustainable land management.
• Visit the Unique “Grand Canyons”: Explore the dramatic Ol Jogi “Grand Canyons,” a series of impressive ochre-colored gorges carved by rivers over millennia. Enjoy breathtaking views and capture memorable photos of this unique geological landscape.

Late Afternoon:

• Enjoy some relaxing time at a designated spot within the conservancy, soaking in the beauty of the surroundings and reminiscing about the day’s encounters. Bid farewell to the staff and depart Ol Jogi.
