Explore the Mount Kenya Wildlife Conservancy Orphanage

Morning:
Your adventure begins with a pick-up from your Nairobi hotel at 7:30 AM. Travel in a comfortable vehicle for approximately 3-4 hours, enjoying scenic views as you journey towards the foothills of Mount Kenya.
Upon arrival at the MWC Orphanage, you’ll be warmly welcomed by the staff and receive a brief introduction to the orphanage’s history, mission, and the different animals under their care.

Mid-Morning:
Embark on a guided observational tour of the orphanage grounds. Learn about the various species housed at the facility, including orphaned baby elephants, playful monkeys, majestic birds of prey, and other rescued wildlife. Your guide will explain the animals’ stories, the challenges they faced, and the rehabilitation process they undergo before potential release back into the wild.
Depending on the schedule and specific animals, you might have the opportunity to witness feeding time for some of the younger animals (at an additional cost). Observe the caretakers bottle-feeding orphaned babies or providing food enrichment activities for the animals.

Afternoon:
Enjoy a delicious lunch prepared with fresh, local ingredients at a designated restaurant near the orphanage. Relax and take some time to reflect on the heartwarming experience of the morning. Choose one of the following activities to enhance your experience (at an additional cost):
o Become a Foster Parent: Symbolically foster an animal by making a contribution towards its care. You’ll receive a certificate and updates on your chosen animal’s progress.
o Educational Talk & Conservation Efforts: Attend a captivating talk by the orphanage staff, delving deeper into the challenges faced by wildlife in Kenya and the vital role the MWC plays in conservation. Learn about their anti-poaching initiatives and efforts to protect endangered species.

Late Afternoon:
After a heartwarming day spent connecting with rescued wildlife and learning about conservation efforts, bid farewell to the MWC staff. Relax on the scenic journey back to Nairobi, arriving at your hotel by approximately 4:00 PM with lasting memories.
